  42. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  43.

  45. The JetFighter III Pre-Release Demo is compressed and must 
  46. be de-compressed before it can be run.
  47.  
  48. 1.   Create a directory for the JF3 Demo: MD JF3DEMO [Enter]
  49. 2.   Copy JF3DEM.EXE into the new directory you just 
  50.      created.  This will be someting like:
  51.                COPY JF3DEM.EXE C:\JF3DEMO [Enter]
  52. 3.   Change into the JF3DEMO directory: CD \JF3DEMO [Enter]
  53. 4.   Extract the demo by typing: JF3DEM -d [Enter]
  54.      ** NOTE: the "-d" is VERY IMPORTANT! **
  55.      This process should create two subdirectories, 
  56.      SIMDATA and CACHE, under C:\JF3DEMO.
  57.      If this did not happen, please check for
  58.      available disk space (about 35 Meg) and try again.
  59. 5.   Run the demo by typing: JF3DEMO [Enter]

  65. Welcome to the JetFighter III Demo!  This version of 
  66. JetFighter III is being distributed to let you take a sneak 
  67. peek at JetFighter III.  Of course, it is our hope that it 
  68. will wet your appetite for more!

  70. This version of the game is NOT SUPPORTED at all by Mission 
  71. Studios or Interplay, although we do appreciate any feedback 
  72. you can give us.  Of course, full customer support is 
  73. available for the retail version of JetFighter III.

  75. We hope you enjoy this look at JetFighter III.  In fact, we 
  76. hope you enjoy it so much that you simply MUST go out and 
  77. buy the retail version!

  95. This Demo version of JetFighter III has several limitations 
  96. to cut down on the download size, and to keep from giving 
  97. away too much!  
  98.  
  99. - CPU: Demo requires a Pentium 90, Retail runs on a 486/66.
  100. - RAM: Demo requires 16Meg of RAM, Retail runs in 8Meg
  101. - RESOLUTION: Demo runs in only 320x200 and 640x400.  Retail 
  102. Version also includes 640x350 and 640x480 resolutions.
  103. - SCREEN SIZE: Demo only includes 80% and 60% screen sizes.  
  104. The Retail Version also runs in full-screen.
  105. - TIME: Demo version has a limited flight time.  Of course, 
  106. the full Retail version is unlimited.
  107. - SCENERY: The Demo has 1 5x5 degree area of the world.  The 
  108. Retail Version includes over 40 TIMES as much scenery area!
  109. - MISSIONS: The Demo has 4 missions, the Retail product has 
  110. over 90.
  111. - INTERFACE: The Demo has a simple menu interface, the 
  112. Retail version has a complete interactive interface and 
  113. tracks many pilot statistics.
